The A-Lift is the signature procedure of the Almonte Center for Facial Cosmetic Surgery. A facelift, also known as a rhytidectomy, is recommended for patients with decreased elasticity in the skin due to age, changes in weight, sun damage or emotional stress. Dr. Almonte’s A-Lift reduces the appearance of jowls, smoothes out loose skin on the face, tightens the underlying tissue and removes excess fat creating a more defined jaw line and youthful face and neck profile. As a result, your face will appear firmer and more refreshed.
Some of the most visible signs of aging first appear on the face. Although the changes appear gradually, there may come a day when you look in the mirror and decide that the face you see doesn’t reflect the way you feel about yourself.

The First Step
A personal consultation is the first step for every patient considering a facelift. During this meeting, Dr. Almonte will assess your physical and emotional health and discuss your specific cosmetic goals for surgery.
You should arrive at the consultation prepared to provide complete information about:
If you are overweight and have a realistic desire to lose more that 15 pounds, your weight loss could affect your results. It’s important to discuss these plans with Dr. Almonte.
During your physical evaluation, Dr. Almonte will assess your bone structure and the underlying tissues of the face. The thickness, texture and elasticity of your skin and the severity of the wrinkles and folds will also be considered. Your hairline will be examined to determine where incisions can be discreetly placed. All of these factors will be considered in developing your surgical plan.
Dr. Almonte may explain additional procedures that can be performed along with a facelift to meet your appearance goals. For example, a facelift is frequently combined with:
Facelift surgery risks include, but are not limited to:
It is important to remember that despite the best and latest techniques in facial rejuvenation, nothing stops the aging process. Plastic surgery simply tries to slow it down. Your skin continues to age normally, but because of your surgery, your appearance will look better than if you had never had surgery.
Completely Under Local Anesthesia
The goal at the Almonte Center is for our patients to undergo any surgical procedure in the safest manner possible. The facelift has been studied for many decades by many surgeons, and the safest approach is under local anesthesia. Dr. Almonte performs his facelift completely under local anesthesia thus eliminating the risks and complications involved with general anesthesia. During the facelift, the underlying facial muscle known as the SMAS is tightened, then the skin is re-draped and tightened on top of that, thus rendering a lasting result. For most patients, the facelift can be done in one to two hours, and the overall recovery time is around 10 – 14 days. You could be back to work in a couple of weeks. All other facial procedures, such as eyelid surgery, brow lifting, fat grafting, liposuction, or laser can be done at the same time as needed.
